How About Taking a Break after the Christmas Holidays?

November 30th, 2009 Posted in Outdoors

As Christmas is now fast approaching, and along with it comes all the hassle of families arguing over where they are going to be spending the ‘big day’.  You hear the cry of “we had Great Nan staying with us last year, surely it can’t be our turn again?”

Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with spending precious time with your family over the festive season, but why is that that some of the family always avoid older relatives staying at their home.

When she stayed overnight it wasn’t such a problem as she slept in one of the kid’s bedrooms, but it seems that over the years, the one night stay has somehow been extended to a week!  It is such a huge mission clearing out the upstairs office just so Great Nan can have a nice comfy bedroom for the duration of her stay.  If the truth be told, much as we love our Great Nan, by the end of the week, we could all do with a holiday.

This year we have decided that we are going on holiday just after Christmas, so Great Nan can come and stay, but not for very long.

It’s a bit of a tough decision on where to go.As it is the Christmas season and we never seem to get any snowfalls in Southern England, it would be fantastic to go somewhere where there is just a little bit of snow. However, the remainder of the family enjoy a bit of sunshine as they love to escape the rotten English weather.

I have come up with the perfect solution and we have decided to try a Chile Holiday. By travelling to Chile we get the best of both worlds as they certainly have the sunshine, and high up on the volcano we can even see some snow.

I have the feeling that if we book then, we can all do a little of what we like, so ensuring we all have a great holiday.

On our return from our winter break, thoughts will definitely be on our next holiday.  I fancy a nice exhilarating walking holiday, but somewhere where the weather is great, perhaps a holiday in Brazil could be a good choice?
