What a Dreadful Flight That Was
November 28th, 2009 Posted in OutdoorsLast summer with detailed planning, the family and I decided to travel to Florida for a 3 week holiday.
We like to try and visit Mickey Mouse and his chums every couple of years. Both the flights and villa had been booked for nearly a year and at last the day of our holiday was nearly upon us. Everything was packed in the suitcases and the last minute nerves were starting to kick in.
Finally the day of the holiday was upon us and the radio alarm had been set for at least a couple of hours before it really needed to be. We got to the airport within plenty of time and managed to have a lovely breakfast at one of the restaurants in the terminal.
Our flight was scheduled to take off at.15am, which low and behold it actually did.I thought it was all going too well, and trust me I was right in my thinking. The next 9 hours on our flight to Orlando were the worst 9 hours of my life.
The cabin crew were very abrupt and obnoxious, the seatback television wasn’t working, the overall service was dismal and if you dared to ask for anything you were glared at and told to wait. I couldn’t believe I had to wait over an hour for a drink! I could maybe understand this if it had been a cheap old charter flight, but no this was a scheduled flight with a big airline that had cost a tidy packet.
In all honestly, I cannot imagine myself ever flying with this airline again. Since my return from the holiday, I have sent a very strong letter of complaint to the airline. This weekend I got a letter from the airline company and they had sent me a voucher for £25.00 towards my next flight. This I think is an absolute insult and does not even total 1% of the full cost of our flights.
For our summer holiday next year, I am thinking about doing something completely different. One of my friends has thoroughly praised her recent Peru Holiday and to be honest, after looking at some of her holiday pictures, it looks absolutely idyllic. It must be beautiful to be able to walk along the world famous Inca Trail.
I shall definitely be thinking about booking such a wonderful holiday, walking could be the way forward for me!!
