Where Do You Like To Spend Your Holiday?
November 26th, 2009 Posted in OutdoorsNow that the dark nights are here and the weather is looking rather gloomy and grey, some people are already thinking about where they might be able to get a bit of holiday sunshine next summer.
Some holidaymakers like to return to their favourite hotel year after year.As an example look at Michael and Mary Hirst. They are both in the 70’s and for the past 50 years they have been visiting the beautiful island of Malta.
Their very first trip was to The Hotel Phoenicia in November 1959.They had been on a trip to West Africa and on the way home decided to stop off in Malta. Since that first trip, they enjoyed the country so much that they have holidayed there year after year, mostly staying in the same hotel.
It seems very strange that you would really want to return to the same country every single year. Nowadays there are so many wonderful and fascinating countries to explore; it just seems quite peculiar that they haven’t visited anywhere else for their holidays.
One good thing is that at least they know they will like their holiday accommodation, sometimes you just never know what you are letting yourself in for and it can absolutely spoil the whole holiday.
It’s funny how we all like to do different things on holiday. For some people their holidays are spent lazing around the pool all day, lapping up their 2 weeks annual guaranteed sunshine.Others like to do something completely out of the ordinary and try something new. There is a challenging holiday out there for all of us and a vast choice of different adventures just waiting for us to try.
For example maybe you have always dreamed of taking a nice relaxing walking holiday. If so it might be worth considering Spain’s Rioja region and taking in some of the beautiful landscapes
The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and you can stay at some fantastic inns and hotels during your holiday.
This is just one of a million and one different places you could choose to travel to.Personally speaking I am more than pleased with my 2 weeks lying on my sunbed sipping yet another alcoholic drink. I don’t really want to go on an Active Holiday and to be honest my daily argument with fellow holidaymakers over who gets the best sunbed is quite enough excitement for me.
