There comes a point in most everyone’s life when they just find themselves wanting to get away from it all. Of course, one person’s idea of a vacation may differ greatly from another person’s ideal. Perhaps the idea of resting on a tropical island fills them with happiness, or maybe an amusement park visit is more their style. Throwing a few essentials together and going camping, is another alternative that some individuals choose; but will every individual find this option enjoyable? The answer may surprise you, but yes, it is possible.

Some people would never find it fun or attractive to rest on the same land frequented by bugs and wild animals. Camping at home may be the most attractive option for these individuals. Why not gather pillows, blankets, and chairs to make a fort-like tent and put them in a spacious room? When choosing to camp at home, meals can be prepared in the kitchen, and no one has to worry about cooking over a campfire. In the eyes of many, it may not be “real” camping, but it works.

Other individuals who would like to try their hand at camping, can vacation in the woods, far from all the noise and conveniences of their everyday lives. While campers are always vulnerable to whatever the weather might be, they also can learn to be one with Mother Nature herself. They can glance up at the stars as they rest, listen to the birds and other forest creatures, and bond with the people around them. Rustic is the name of the game when it comes to cooking over an open fire. The stay-at-home campers might call them crazy; however, they would not care.

Good outdoor fire pits are a great addition to any camp site, whether it is out in the middle or nowhere, or in the middle of the living room. A fire is a necessary ingredient of the camping experience. So much is shared over an open flame, ghost stories, S’mores and hot chocolate, laughter and warmth.
